About the role:

Uniting AgeWell has had a long-standing commitment to volunteering with many volunteers having a connection to a site through links to their local Uniting Church.

The acquisition of Community based Volunteering services has broadened Uniting AgeWell's program, moving from solely Residential or Facility based services to a model now covering aspects community, home and facility services. This newly created role will see you bringing together the 3 Volunteer models to create a cohesive approach. Duties in clude but are notlimited to;

  • Working collaboratively with sites and services and providing oversight  and management of the volunteering program including the development of a Volunteer strategy and framework bringing together volunteering across all sites and services
  • A focus on developing best practice recruitment, onboarding, engagement and developed of volunteers across Residential Aged Care and Community-based programs to deliver person-centered volunteering services and care
  • Provide advice, assistance and professional support to incorporate evidence and contemporatry best practice in the planning, review and evaluation of services and systems with volunteer involvement
  • Ensure that volunteer programs are a considered and planned, aligning with the workforce strategy and the organisation’s strategic priorities

This role will see you leading Volunteer services across Victoria and Tasmania.

About you:

You are passionate about what you do and want to make a difference in the lives of our residents/clients, enhancing their self-esteem and empowering them to make choices.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources highly regarded
  • Demonstrated track record in the development and management of volunteering programs
  • Demosntrated understanding of contemporary volunteering and workforce planning issues
  • Excellent communication and consulting capability
  • Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions
  • Are committed to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust)

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

  • A current Working With Children or Vulnerable People card
  • Current and ongoing flu and COVID-19 Vaccinations
  • Australian working rights
  • Ability to pass a national police clearance
